Ateneo ROTC’s C/CPT Diputado 2CL wins PAF ROTC Female Cadet of the Year 2023

Representing Ateneo de Manila University ROTC and Philippine Air Force (PAF) 1st Air Reserve Center (1st ARCEN), C/CPT Katrina P Diputado 2CL was recognized as the PAF ROTC Female Cadet of the Year by the Philippine Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC).

C/CPT Diputado 2CL is a 3rd year AB Interdisciplinary Studies student and consistent Dean’s Lister at Ateneo de Manila University. She is currently the S5 Liaisons and S7 Civil-Military Operations officer at the 131st Department of Military Science and Tactics (DMST). She is also an active cadet officer under the Press Corps (the unit which focuses on ROTC documentation and promotions), and the Field Medics unit after having completed her first aid training and certification. 

She was adjudged as the PAF ROTC Female Cadet of the Year during the 44th Philippine Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) Founding Anniversary on 04 December 2023 at Gaerlan Auditorium, Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command, Pampanga with Lieutenant General Stephen P Parreño PAF Commanding General, Philippine Air Force as the Guest of Honor.

She is also one of three PAF ROTC Cadet Officers who were awarded the Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines ROTC Scholarship Grant—a scholarship that is screened based on academic performance and primarily given to recipients of the Cadet of the Year award.

Prior to her application for both the award and scholarship, she received the Leadership Award during the NSTP-ROTC Graduation for Basic Cadets in May 2023. Soon after this, she began her term as part of the Ateneo Corps of Cadet Officers (ACCO) and she went through the Summer Cadre Training from June to August 2023. Within the Ateneo community, her first major milestone was spearheading the collaboration with the Emergency Response and Communications (ERCom) Committee to marshal and provide first aid during Ateneo’s Orientation Seminar (OrSem). Beyond campus, she also attends reservist activities with the 1st ARCEN such as the Tree Planting Activity in Antipolo City.
