11 Aug 2023
Dr. Andrei Coronel, an Associate Professor from the Department of Information Systems and Computer Science (DISCS), delivered a talk on “AI Essentials, Basics, Implementation, and Ethics” for the Legislative Information Resources Management Department (LIRMD) of the House of Representatives, last July 27, 2023.

This session is the first module of a lecture series entitled “LIRMD IT: Unleashing the Potential of AI in the Workplace: A Journey of Exploration,” which aims to familiarize the LIRMD and the House Secretariat about Artificial Intelligence and its potential implementation in the workplace.

During a time where Artificial Intelligence is fast becoming a ubiquitous tool assisting us in our daily lives, Dr. Coronel has demystified what artificial intelligence is all about, what makes a machine intelligent, how it works and how it could be adopted and implemented in the workplace as a significant tool for operations. The talk included challenges, social issues, and the ethical use of AI in workplace operations.
