Recipients of the 40th National Book Awards from the School of Humanities

The School of Humanities congratulates the following faculty members of the School for receiving National Book Awards in their respective categories:
Allan N. Derain (Filipino Department), Best Novel in Filipino, for Aswanglaut
Erik Akpedonu (Fine Arts), Alfonso T. Ongpin Prize for Best Book on Art, for Endangered Splendor: Manila’s Architectural Heritage, 1571-1960, co-authored with Fernando N. Zialcita (Sociology and Anthropology, SOSS)
Agustin Martin G. Rodriguez, Best Book in Philosophy, for Repentance and Rebirth at the End of Life as We Know It
All the books were published by the Ateneo de Manila University Press, which was declared Publisher of the Year at the National Book Awards.
The awarding ceremony will be held on May 13, 2023. The National Book Awards are given out annually by the National Book Development Board and the Manila Critics Circle.
