The Philippine National Minecraft Education Competition is an annual event hosted by FELTA (First in Learning Trends Always), Inc. & Microsoft Philippines. It challenges Filipino students to build and code sustainable solutions for tomorrow through the game of Minecraft. The 2022 competition had “Agriculture for the Future” as its theme and called on the students to brainstorm automated yet sustainable solutions to farming. Of the many entries submitted by students from various schools, 36 entries qualified for the final round. The competition was held at the FELTA Innovation Hub in Quezon City, though our students were among those who attended virtually via Microsoft Teams.
The Building Eagles team is managed by the Gamebreakers org and coached by Allan Santos of the Computer Subject Area, and Jason Arias and Lavi Subang of the Science Subject Area. The org will use this experience to prepare for various international Minecraft competitions that will be held later this year.
