The Ateneo community is mourning the loss of one of its own, Security Guard Jeneven Bandiala, who died in the line of duty last Sunday, 24 July 2022.
Jeneven served as one of Ateneo’s trusted security personnel since 2016, and in that span of time, he endeared himself to many employees, administrators, faculty, and students. He will be remembered for his friendliness, courteousness, and most of all, his sense of duty. The outpouring of condolences and support for his family only shows how much the community is grateful for his selfless and heroic act.
His sense of duty and dedication to protecting the community is an embodiment of the spirit of magis. Ateneo is proud to call Jeneven, as well as the rest of our security personnel, part of the community.
Jeneven’s family, we cannot fathom the pain and anguish you are experiencing after this sudden and tragic loss. We fervently pray that you may find solace in the fact that your beloved son, partner, and father is now in God's warm embrace. May you also swiftly find justice for Jeneven, in the hope that it would lessen the pain of your loss.
The selflessness, sacrifice, and dedication of SG Jeneven Bandiala will never be forgotten.
