For its debut offering, "The Magis Podcast Series" presents this fitting tribute to honor the life and works of St Thomas Aquinas, one of the most influential philosophers and theologians in history.

St Thomas Aquinas, a Dominican friar born in the 13th century, was not only a towering figure in medieval scholasticism but remains a guiding light in the exploration of the relationship between faith and reason. His profound insights, captured in masterpieces like the Summa Theologica and Summa Contra Gentiles, have left an indelible mark on philosophy, theology, and even modern thought.

2023 marks the beginning of the Jubilee Year of celebrating his life and contributions. The jubilee continues in 2024, when the 750th anniversary of his death is remembered, and will end in 2025, when the 800th anniversary of his birth is celebrated.

In this episode, host Dr Jovi Miroy, one of Ateneo's esteemed philosopher-teachers, engages in discussions with scholars and local experts—the "Thomists"—to unravel the layers of Aquinas's profound works and how his teachings bridge the gap between the ideas of his time and the issues of today.

Whether you're a seasoned scholar or just a curious mind, our podcast promises an enlightening journey through the intellectual treasure trove that this great thinker left behind.
