Warm greetings from the Ateneo School of Government!

We are pleased to extend an invitation to the course "Introduction to Futures Thinking in Climate Change", which will be held this 16 July 2025, at the Ateneo de Manila University Loyola Heights Campus.

This interactive one-day course will introduce participants to fundamental foresight and futures thinking concepts, principles, and methodologies, identifying key trends and envisioning possible futures for anticipating, adapting to, and addressing climate change and sustainability challenges and impacts.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the fundamentals of foresight and futures thinking and its relevance to climate change
  2. Analyze climate change challenges through an anticipatory governance lens
  3. Apply basic foresight tools for current and emerging climate-related signals, drivers, and trends
  4. Develop initial scenarios and possible strategies for climate-resilient policy formulation and program design

Who should attend?

This course is ideal for

  • Mid-level professionals in government agencies,
  • LGUs (MDRRMO, MPDO, and City ENRO),
  • CSOs, academe, and climate-related institutions involved in planning, environmental policy, or risk management.

The course fee of Php 7,500 is inclusive of training materials, meals (AM/PM snacks and lunch), certificate of completion, and access to post-training resources.
