Thriving with Climate Security in Metro Manila: Narratives of Resilience from the Ground

As climate challenges escalate across the globe, the urgent need to rethink approaches to urban climate security takes center stage at the upcoming joint university conference on climate security. This conference is hosted by Coastal Communities at Risk in the Philippines (CCARPH)-Ateneo de Manila University and La Trobe University.
Titled “Thriving with Climate Security in Metro Manila: Narratives of Resilience from the Ground,” this full-day conference will convene researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and students at the Areté Sandbox Zone from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The event is spearheaded by Professor Emeritus (Sociology) Dr. Emma Porio, Principal Investigator and Project Leader of CCARPH, a pioneering research initiative under the Ateneo de Manila University.
Collaborating organizations comprise entities from Ateneo de Manila University, Areté, the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, the Dr. Rosita G. Leong School of Social Sciences, the Sandbox Co-Lab, and the Manila Observatory. University units also work with La Trobe University and the National Resilience Council to advance climate policy and innovation.
