As February begins, ALiWW joins the arts community in celebrating the Arts through the celebration of female artists through the Natividad Galang Fajardo Exhibit.

In its 16th iteration, ALiWW honours Lenore RS Lim through the exhibit Natural Tapestries: A Womanhood Through Print which runs from 11-28 February 2025 at the ALiWW Reading Room

The exhibit Natural Tapestries: Womanhood through Prints celebrates the artistry of Lenore RS Lim, whose works capture the profound connections between nature and womanhood. Through the exhibition of select artworks and her archival materials, which include intimate prints, catalogues, articles, and ephemera, this exhibit explores themes of resilience, care, grace, and relationships, drawing inspiration from her roles as a mother, educator, community leader, and artist.

Like the ornate callados from Taal, Lenore’s art weaves threads of her personal experiences into various materials, both organic and inorganic, to create prints that showcase one’s fragility yet enduring grace. The confluence of analog materials and digital processes speaks of Lenore’s natural countenance to rise above the challenges of the modern world without leaving the past behind. Each piece in the exhibit speaks of relationships nurtured and remembered. Collectively, these material elements echo the strength, grace, and nurturing spirit that defines the essence of womanhood. In many ways, the exhibit reflects Lenore’s journey as she balances her creativity alongside her responsibilities to her family, community, and educational practice.

The exhibit offers a unique opportunity to delve into her creative process and understand how the rhythms of nature and the cycles of life have shaped her artistic vision. This event hopes to immerse visitors in a celebration of life’s interconnectedness and the beauty of womanhood. Through Lenore Lim’s art, the audience will witness how the quiet strength of nature parallels the enduring spirit of women, woven together in a harmonious, poetic narrative.

An Opening Reception will be held on 11 February (Tuesday) from 1:00-3:00 p.m, with a short program at 1:30 that introduces her work and a ceremony that looks into the handover of her archival materials to ALiWW. A simple merienda cena will served to guests of the event. Kindly RSVP to ALiWW using the e-mail on the poster. Slots are limited for guests.

We look forward to seeing you at ALiWW.
