The Ateneo de Manila University Literary and Cultural Studies Program (LCSP), in collaboration with Exploding Galaxies, invites literature enthusiasts, scholars, and the general public to "States of the Filipino Novel," a thought-provoking series of lectures that tackles the richness of Filipino literature. The series features distinguished authors and academics and highlights the Filipino novel's evolution, significance, and discursive power across different contexts and perspectives.

Speakers Nicole CuUnjieng Aboitiz and Charlie Samuya Veric will discuss José Rizal’s influence on Philippine literature and nation-building. They will explore the influence of Rizal’s seminal works, Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, on the country’s literary and cultural identity.
