AREA HospitaliTALKS: Kapihan - Behind the Bean

KAPIHAN, is an initiative that aims to connect coffee enthusiasts and the coffee beverage and product sector. This event features a coffee beverage conference for AREA members, the Ateneo community, and anyone with a love and passion for the craft of coffee. This conference offers an opportunity for the aforementioned individuals to learn and professionally grow through this 2-day event of talks, engaging discussions, and workshops.
The 2-day event will cover various topics, including the science of coffee beans, the farm-to-table process, coffee making (including latte art), and the business behind the industry. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from industry experts and gain basic knowledge and skills in relation to: coffee preparation, deep insights about the coffee industry, and aspects surrounding the industry’s latest trends.
“Behind the Bean” is an introduction session about coffee, beginning with the coffee bean. It is envisioned to tackle nuances or science behind the bean from the variety of beans, its terroir, as well as the multitude of processing processes. It is also dedicated to the “farm to table or cup” of the coffee bean.
This session takes place from 12:30 to 2:30 pm on 20 November 2024 at Salon Curnonsky, Le Cordon Bleu Ateneo de Manila and will feature guest speakers Raymund Mirabueno of Mirabueno Coffee and Gregoria Ruth Novales of Nestle.
