Gender Equality

QCII

We are inviting the community to a special event on October 17, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at ALiWW where we will explore themes of sapphic romance with the talented creators of Gigil. Joining us will be Ezjae Zemana, Sunny and Rita from Astigmata Studio, Caia (@soulfulweaver), and Thirdy de Guzman (@barakorner) alongside students for a conversation on how sapphic love and identity are visualized, the boundaries of representation, and how the Gigil team approached these themes in their work.

We look forward to seeing you there as we push the boundaries of sapphic representation and celebrate diverse love stories!

Queer Creativity Talks intends to raise awareness of Filipino queer comics and illustrations and inspire queer creativity and expression among our students. We ask artists about their inspirations for their queer stories, their motivations in creating queer images and narratives, and some technical aspects in terms of building one's story and visuals for comics and illustrations with queerness in mind.
