Alay kay Maria 2024

Since 1977, Dulaang Sibol of the Ateneo de Manila High School has been celebrating our Lady’s birthday through the Marian community concert Alay Kay Maria. For 47 years, we have been singing with our community, bringing choirs and musicians together to serenade our Mother.

This year’s Alay Kay Maria is on Friday, 6 September 2024. Continuing a tradition begun in partnership with the Ateneo de Manila University Office for Mission and Identity (OMI) in 2023, our Alay is in two parts, both livestreamed on Radyo Katipunan and Ateneo social media channels.

3pm Online Recollection
Maria: Inspirasyon sa Misyon, Pag-asa sa Gitna ng mga Hamon, Liwanag Tungo sa Panginoon

First, at 3pm. we have an online recollection. Mrs Virgie Gayda-Esteves, Paring Bert Alejo SJ, and Dr Marlu Vilches reflect on Mary who serves as our inspiration, hope, and light, as we seek our Lord. Between reflections, we will be serenaded by Fr RB Hizon SJ and members of Himig Heswita, along with Domi Espejo and Dr Mhir Delos Santos, all accompanied by pianist Kim Sarmiento.

Second, at 530pm, we have our more traditional Alay, our serenade for our Blessed Mother featuring choirs and musicians from the Ateneo de Manila community and from our friends and partners. Joining Dulaang Sibol are student organizations from the Ateneo Senior and Junior High Schools.

Other guest performers include faculty performers from both Junior and Senior High Schools, the Ateneo College Glee Club, Toto Sorioso, Young Voices of the Philippines, Hangad, Aleron, and Bukas Palad Music Ministry.

Admission to the live event in Tanghalang Pagsanghan (Dulaang Sibol) is free.
