About The Talk

Yukiko and Tetsu Ito will share their experiences with backstrap weavers in Cambulo, Ifugao, Philippines, where traditional bast textiles and bark cloth are crafted from wild forest trees. Their talk will highlight interactions between Japanese textile artists and local artisans, emphasizing mutual learning and creativity. The session aims to gather audience insights on the wild tree varieties used and ideas to support Cambulo's weavers and beaters.
