The Ateneo Art Gallery, in partnership with the Ateneo Institute of Sustainability, celebrates #EarthDay with “Exploring Nature Through Art,” an ArtSpeak session featuring visual artist Iya Regalario.

As part of its 10th anniversary celebration, the Ateneo Institute of Sustainability (AIS), in collaboration with The Ateneo Wild, has launched “Our Wild Campus,” an exhibition by visual artist Iya Regalario that features a collection of pen and ink illustrations of various wildflowers, insects, birds, and native trees found around the Ateneo campus. Organized as a collateral program, “Exploring Nature Through Art” will look into the intersection between the environment and creative practice as presented in the exhibition.

This ArtSpeak program is organized in partnership with AIS. “Our Wild Campus” is on-view at the Rizal Library, Ateneo de Manila University until 17 May 2024.

About the Speaker:

Visual artist Iya Regalario works across various illustration-based mediums such as pyrography (wood burning), mural painting, and pen and ink illustration.

Regalario’s works serve as an extension of her personal views of the world, covering themes that express her constantly evolving cultural identity as a Filipino. For Regalario, illustration has become a means of expressing her deep sentiments on issues of identity, politics, philosophy, media, and the environment.
