Book Talk: 'Some People Need Killing' by Patricia Evangelista
Due to the enthusiastic response to the invitation to attend the "Some People Need Killing" book talk with author Patricia Evangelista, registration is now closed.
All those who registered and/or pre-ordered books will receive an email on Monday, April 8, with the exact location of the event on Friday, April 12, along with other reminders.
Journalist and author Patricia Evangelista comes to Ateneo de Manila University on 12 April 2024 for a book talk on her critically-acclaimed book, Some People Need Killing: A Memoir of Murder in My Country, which chronicles the deadly "war on drugs" under the presidency of Rodrigo Duterte from 2016 to 2022. Dr Ambeth Ocampo will moderate the conversation.
The event will be held at the Ateneo de Manila University Loyola Heights campus on Friday, 12 April 2024, from 230-6 pm.
Onsite attendees must register at go.ateneo.edu/spnk-reg on or before 12nn Wednesday, 10 April 2024.
Those attending onsite can pre-order copies of the book upon registering. Part of the proceeds will go to the families of the victims of the drug war.

About the Author

Patricia Evangelista is a trauma journalist and former investigative reporter for Rappler. She graduated from the University of the Philippines in Diliman before working as a documentary producer for the ABS-CBN News Channel and as a columnist for The Philippine Daily Inquirer. Her reporting on human rights, armed conflict and disaster has earned local and international acclaim.
