Join us as our speakers talk about the 2023 BSKE while highlighting election challenges and lessons learned in the conduct of the SK elections.
- What old questions about the state of our local politics resurfaced during the elections?
- What new challenges and opportunities for strengthening our national and local institutions for participation, representation, and accountability are brought about by the 2023 BSKE?
With the SK elections in focus, the post-2023 BSKE assessments hope to shed light on the implementation of the new provisions of the SK Reform law, namely, 1) the expanded age requirement from 15-17 years old to 18-24 years old and 2) the prohibition against relatives of any incumbent elected regional, provincial, city, municipal, or barangay official within the second civil degree of consanguinity or affinity to run for SK in the locality where the youth seeks to be elected.
