Stay ahead of the rapidly changing organizational landscape with our Certificate Course in Working with Organization Change. The program is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills on how to guide organizations through change, and the critical role of line leaders in implementing change. You will also gain an understanding of the full organizational change cycle, and the critical use of self in leading change.

Course Description

This 40-hour online course aims to equip the participants on how to work with organization change. The course introduces the participants to what OD is about and how the line leaders play a vital role in implementing change. It also aims to equip participants with working knowledge on the principles, core theories, ethics, and values of Organization Development as well as a practical understanding of the full OD consulting cycle and process consultation as a core competence in OD. Finally, it elaborates on the critical use of self in leading organizational change. The course will be carried through lectures, plenary discussions, case study, and structured learning exercises.

Course Objectives:

At the end of the course, the participants will be able to:

  1. Articulate and explain the definitions and values of OD as a field
  2. Demonstrate basic Process Consultation skills in implementing organizational change.
  3. Explain and apply some core theories in OD practice
  4. Demonstrate foundational knowledge and skills in conducting organization diagnosis and determining appropriate OD interventions
  5. Experience the full OD consulting cycle
  6. Describe the importance of the use of self in OD
  7. Reflect on their own change experiences
  8. Discuss the different concepts in change leadership

 Course Outline:

Module 1: Overview of Organization Development

In this introductory module, the participants will discuss the definition of Organization Development: its field boundaries, key characteristics and its relationship with Human Resource Management and Development, as well as Change Management.

Module 2: Process Consultation

This module will introduce the basic OD skills of Process Observation Analysis and Process Consultation. Participants will also discuss the OD Values, Ethics, and Standards in this module.

Module 3: OD Consulting Cycle and Core Theories

This module will provide an understanding of the breadth of the OD Consulting Cycle. The participants will be engaged in discussions on the different types of clients and the different consulting phases, tasks, and questions. This module will also tackle the Core Theories that underpin the practice of OD, such as Systems Thinking, Social Construction, Complexity Theories, Action Research, and Change Theories.

Module 4: Overview of Diagnosis

In this module, participants will demonstrate foundational knowledge and skills in conducting organization diagnosis.

Module 5: Overview of OD Intervention & Leading Org Transformation Model

In this module, participants will demonstrate how to appropriately determine the right type of OD intervention. The module will likewise introduce the drivers for enabling organization transformation in Philippine organizations.

Module 6: Peer Consulting

In this module, participants will act as peer consultants for its fellow learners. They will be encouraged to work on their critical organizational challenges. The participants will simulate the appropriate OD Cycle phases with their peers whilst in a safe learning environment.

Module 7: Being a Change Leader

This culminating module emphasizes the importance and relevance of being a change leader and the "Use of Self” in leading organizational change. This module will also have participants reflect on their past and present learning journeys to cement their future endeavors as organizational change agents.

​​​​​Synchronous Session Schedule:

  • Tuesday and Friday; 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM

Target Participants:

  • Ideal for participants who regularly lead change or will be leading change in their organizations

Participant Requirements:

  1. Participants should submit a Pre-course Questionnaire, Career Summary, CV/Resume, and OD Project Summary
  2. Participants should have at least three (3) years of work experience as a line leader or consultant/coach for line leaders

Technical Requirements:

  1. Zoom account for access to synchronous sessions
  2. Stable internet connection for live or synchronous sessions 

Equivalency:

  • No. of learning hours for an online program: 40 Hours
  • Equivalent no. of days for the face-to-face program: 5 Days
