Forum for Super8 Cinema and Moving Image

Ateneo Art Gallery

     10 Nov 2023 03:00 pm - 11 Nov 2023 08:00 pm

Super8 Forum

Join the very first Forum for Super8 Cinema and Moving Image happening on November 10 – 11 at the Ateneo Art Gallery, with featured talks on the history of Philippine alternative cinema and  the relevance of the Super8 Camera. These will be led by filmmakers Nick Deocampo, Raymond Red, and forum proponents Erwin Romulo and Jun Sabayton. The program closes with a performance by filmmaker and visual artist Roxlee wherein participants are invited to join in on creating a communal film. The forum is open to the public and free of charge with registration required at https://go.ateneo.net/Super82023.

As the first of its kind, the forum aims to be a platform  to promote Philippine alternative cinema and broaden the reach of its practice to today’s audiences, especially to young filmmakers. The forum intends to touch on more topics and projects in the future, with plans of following a biennial schedule moving forward.
