11th Cinemachina Chinese Video-Making Competition
PURPOSE:
CINEMACHINA aims to use student-created short videos
- to promote knowledge and understanding of Chinese language and culture to the Ateneo de Manila University community.
- promote knowledge and understanding of the Philippines to Chinese-speaking audiences.
GROUNDS FOR DISQUALIFICATION:
- This competition should be composed of one (1) or two (2) to four (4) students enrolled in Mandarin Chinese classes offered during the Intersession Classes of School Year 2023-2024.
- Entries must have a title.
- Presenters must deliver the video entirely in Mandarin.
- Videos must be 3 - 5 minutes only.
- Entries must begin and end with the official CinemaChina title screen (to be provided).
- Participants must produce a feature story using various media approaches like documentary, interview, or re-enactment.
- Entries must be short videos dubbed in Chinese by the students and accompanied by English and Chinese subtitles.
- Entries must be in MP4 format and must be optimized for upload to YouTube and Facebook.
- The student may consult experts for advice and feedback on their entries prior to submission. Once an entry has been submitted, it may not be edited further.
- Entries containing profane and/or discriminatory elements will automatically be disqualified.
- Entries must not contain blooper reels.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
- Any stock photos, music, footage, and/or animation to be used must be in the public domain. Otherwise, participants must own the copyrights or have the written permission from the copyright holders.
- The winning entries become the property of the Ricardo Leong Center for Chinese Studies and the Chinese Studies Program and may be distributed and used for their purposes.
COMPETITION EVENT
- Entries shall be uploaded to Youtube and Facebook under the official CinemaChina account and shall be available for public viewing.
