Lucid Project Lecture Series: Analysis of the Socio-Economic Drivers and Impacts on the Land and its People
The School of Humanities, Ateneo de Manila University, invites all to the first lecture in a three-part series on the LUCID Project, a collaborative interdisciplinary research project, featuring the research of scholars and development practitioners from the Philippines and Belgium, from the fields of geoinformatics, development economics, and philosophy,
on September 20, 2022 | 5 to 6:30PM
at Faber Hall (FH 101)
with J. Andres Ignacio, PhD
In this first lecture, we will learn of land use impact assessment, and how the use of various Geomatics technologies (GIS, Remote Sensing, etc.) are used in understanding social justice questions.
We hope that this lecture series presents an example of how interdisciplinary research for development can inspire future research, and can bridge different cultural gaps—between researchers and practitioners; between researchers, practitioners, and the people who experience the most impact of structural injustice; and between mainstream society as a whole and the marginalized sectors and communities at the center of these issues—that are experienced in these projects.
