[AGS] Computer and Media Literacy Week

In the world of modern technology, cyberspace enables users to do a variety of things, such as sharing information, interacting with people, exchanging ideas, playing games, engaging in discussions or social forums, conducting business, and producing intuitive media.

During the National Peace Month, this Computer and Media Literacy week, one way to talk about cyberspace is promoting the slogan “I am for #CyberPeace: Don’t be mean behind the screen. Be a digital superhero.” Promoting cyber peace is a way to empower students to become good digital citizens. Computer and Media Literacy aims to promote the safe, responsible, and respectful use of technology and the internet. Netiquette includes the concepts of online reputation, critical thinking to fight misinformation, privacy and security, cyberbullying, and reporting inappropriate online behaviors.

Defining and fostering cyber peace is no easy feat but can be attained. As Louis V. Gerstner, Jr. said, “Computers are magnificent tools for the realization of our dreams, but no machine can replace the human spark of spirit, compassion, love, and understanding.”

Let us all do our part to deepen our commitment to be digital superheroes!
