Nihongo for Everyone 1: Coverage Genki Chapters 1 - 5

Nihongo for Everyone is a course for beginners. It focuses on basic communication skills, particularly through speaking and listening. The course also introduces a basic knowledge of Japanese characters for everyday use in Japan.

Schedules:  Time: 8:00 - 11:00am      
                  Time: 1:00 - 4:00pm

 

Nihongo for Everyone 2: Coverage Genki Chapters 6 - 10

A course for those who finished Nihongo for Everyone 1: Basic Japanese Language 1, or 30 hours of classroom instruction. It introduces additional basic expressions, sentence patterns, and useful vocabulary needed to conduct daily communication with Japanese people.

Schedules :  Time: 8:00 - 11:00am              
                    Time: 1:00 - 4:00pm

 

Nihongo for Everyone 3: Coverage Genki Chapters 11 - 15

A course for those who finished Nihongo for Everyone 2 or 60 hours of classroom instruction; students who finish the course are expected to reach the proficiency equivalent of the N5 level of the new Japanese Language Proficiency Test.

Schedule:   Time: 8:00 - 11:00am  
                  Time: 2:00 - 5:00pm

 

Nihongo for Everyone 4: Coverage Genki Chapters 16 - 20

A course for those who finished Nihongo for Everyone 3 or 90 hours of classroom instruction; students are introduced to intermediate-level grammar, vocabulary, and more kanji.

Schedule:  Time: 3:00 - 6:00pm      

 

Nihongo for Everyone 5 : Coverage Genki Chapters 21 - 23

A course for those who finished Nihongo for Everyone 4 or 120 hours of classroom instruction; students who finish the course are expected to reach the  proficiency equivalent to the N4 level of the new Japanese Language Proficiency Test.

Schedule:  Time: 1:00 - 4:00pm      

 

Mode of Instruction

  • 10-hour synchronous sessions (1-hour live-streamed, Zoom lectures for 10 Saturdays)
  • 20-hour asynchronous sessions (online exercises)

 

Course details

  • The course guarantees a total of 30 learning hours, including 1-hour live classes scheduled for 10 Saturdays over Zoom.
  • This course is open to both Ateneo and non-Ateneo Nihongo learners, 16 years old and older.
  • Registration Fee: P4,200 (inclusive of 30 hours mixed-instruction Nihongo class, readings/learning materials, and a certificate for those who complete the course) 
  • Mode of payment: Cash, check, credit card | Online thru BPI bills payment or Over the Counter (OTC) thru any BPI or Metrobank branch
  • Hard copy of textbooks and workbooks will be available at our designated printer in Sauyo, Quezon City. Pick-up is at the expense of the student. 
  • Soft copies of the learning materials will be sent by the Instructor through Canvas.

 

Registration and enrollment

  1. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER.
  2. SETTLE THE REGISTRATION FEE through the designated payment facilities within 2 days from registration.
  3. SEND A COPY of your proof of payment to JSP:  japanese.soss@ateneo.edu within 2 days from registration. Without proof of payment, a student will automatically be delisted from the class and lose the slot that he/she signed up for. 
  4. EXPECT A CONFIRMATION EMAIL with other details of the class within 3 working days. Follow up with JSP if your email is not acknowledged.
