The 4th SOSS Research Conference is a three-day online event from 18-20 April. The theme of this year's conference is "Transitions, Transformations, and Transdisciplinarity: Doing Social Sciences in the Time of Disruptions and Accelerating Planetary Changes".
In the Social Sciences, change has been regarded as the one constant phenomenon underpinning social processes. The speed, depth, and breadth by which change unfolds in recent time, however, have been unsettling chains of relations at a planetary scale and across spheres of living, challenging the social sciences to act, think, and offer new paradigms of understanding. From this perspective, researchers from the social sciences will present their work on current issues to better understand the causes, processes, undercurrents and consequences of global crises and their impact on the human condition most especially in, on, and across the localities of the Global South.
