Around the world, disease surveillance and mathematical modelling have been vital tools for government responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the Philippines, mathematical models have always played an important role in guiding policymakers by showing the impact of the different interventions on the case trajectories. In this talk, we present the compartmental models which we developed for the FASSSTER project, from the original SEIR model to the two subsequent expanded versions. The latter versions were necessitated by the dynamic nature of the epidemic such as the emergence of new variants and the introduction of vaccination programs. We show how the outputs of these models have guided policymakers over the course of the epidemic to make informed decisions and interventions.
