HE Memo#Y3.39
11 June 2025
TO:
The Higher Education Community – Loyola Campus
FROM:
[Sgd] Maria Luz C Vilches, PhD
Vice President for Higher Education
SUBJECT:
Matteo Ricci Hall Renovation Project
In earlier conversations, the community was apprised of the forthcoming additional classroom facilities to address Higher Education needs. This most immediately means the renovation of the Matteo Ricci Hall. Once completed, the renovation will yield 3 additional floors and 15 new regular classrooms (5 per floor).
In view of this goal, the Matteo Ricci Hall will be closed from June 15 to December 31, 2025 for general renovation/vertical expansion with corresponding major structural retrofitting. During the renovation period, the entire Matteo Ricci Hall will be inaccessible to allow for continuous renovation as per timetable and most importantly, for safety measures.
For contingency provisions given the continuing needs for study areas, alternative spaces have been pre-arranged with other building / space stakeholders accordingly.
