Updated Information on Gen AI Policy in Higher Education

Hope all is well in our community despite the challenging weather conditions! We continue to hang on to Hope that does not disappoint!

You will remember that on 13 January 2025, my office released HE Memo#Y3.03 titled “GenAI Policy in Higher Education.”

Nearly four months after, we are releasing now this update that includes an Appendix to the earlier policy document: “Ateneo Generative AI Security Guidelines.” This document was crafted by the Office of the VP for Digital Information and Technology Services (DITS) in consultation with me and especially with the AVP for Undergrad Ed, the AVP for Grad Ed, and the AVP for Research, Creative Work, and Innovation.

I trust that we be guided accordingly in our teaching/learning and scholarly activities by these guidelines.
