SUBJECT:
REVISIONS TO THE UNDERGRADUATE GENERAL AND ACADEMIC REGULATIONS
I hope everyone is relaxing from the daily grind of classwork as we end this second semester. Many thanks for your patient and persevering endeavors in trying to fulfill your dreams and expectations in teaching and learning this SY 2023-2024.
School Year 2024-2025 is actually just around the corner, mind you! We have already been preparing for it. In fact, at its 24 May 2024 meeting, the School Council approved the revised Undergraduate General and Academic Regulations, as proposed by the Office of the Assistant Vice President for Undergraduate Education. These revised regulations will be effective beginning SY 2024-2025.
The General Regulations cover the various aspects of undergraduate student life while the Academic Regulations cover the following:
- Enrollment Regulations
- Transfer of Credit and Validation of Courses
- Attendance Regulations
- Co-Curriculum Courses
- Grading System
- Honors and Awards
- Other Regulations
Among the approved revisions was the use of the name, “Ateneo College” to refer to the undergraduate community of the University.
The revisions of these regulations are in light of the restructuring of the Higher Education and Mission Integration clusters of the University; the implementation of CHED CMO 39, series of 2021; and the adoption in the last few years of new modes of teaching and learning for undergraduate classes.
Thank you for your kind attention. It will make navigating our processes easier for us all.
