Teaching and learning for the rest of the week (OVPLS Memo)

Vice President for the Loyola Schools
Subject:
Teaching and learning for the rest of the week
(Wednesday 8th to Saturday, 11th)
I hope you are all doing well today and classes have not been disrupted by the uncertainties around us!
On account of the ongoing situation of the transport strike in Metro Manila, the Loyola Schools continues to recommend online teaching and learning at the undergraduate and graduate levels during the rest of this week (Wednesday 8th to Saturday, 11th March 2023).
It would be good for you to know too that our facilities onsite remain available for those who would like or be able to do teaching and learning and other related activities (e.g. lab work, exams, etc.) on campus where internet connectivity might be better than in their own residences. Instructors who want to arrange for onsite classes during the rest of the week should inform their department chairs and program directors for good record purposes. It should be understood that such arrangements are a result of negotiations and agreement between the instructors and their students so that expectations are clear – always on the side of fairness.
LS employees are advised to wait for a separate announcement from the Office of the Vice President for Human Resources regarding the mode of work for the rest of the week.
Things may sound complex but as a community we have been known to weather complexities through our gracious cooperation and care for one another. I trust that we continue to be this kind of community in times of need like now.
Take good care, everyone!
