RE:
Leadership transition and search for Chief Information Officer and Vice President for Digital and Information Technology Services
I am pleased to inform the community that the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of Ateneo de Manila approved to create the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Vice President for Digital and Information Technology Services (VP-DITS) in light of the University’s demand for digital innovation and technology-enabled systems in support of its operations.
The CIO & VP-DITS will serve as the University’s executive with overall leadership, accountability, and oversight for governance, strategy, and management of DITS and the University’s multi-disciplinary digital transformation initiative. Please see attached job description for the summary of main duties and responsibilities.
With the creation of this new position, the oversight of the Vice President for Administration and Information Systems (VP-AIS) for the support function of information systems and technology resources will be integrated under the CIO & VP-DITS. Upon the appointment of the new executive, Mr Rodolfo P Ang will continue to serve as Vice President for Administration.
We will ensure a smooth transition in leadership of the offices that will be affected by this reorganization.
I have formed a Search Committee for the CIO & VP-DITS that will conduct interviews and submit recommendations to the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees.
In this regard, I am requesting the community for inputs on possible candidates for the said position. We would appreciate it if the nominations for the above position were submitted to the Office of the President via email (president@ateneo.edu) on or before 26 November 2021. This position is open to external candidates. Those who are interested may apply directly and submit their applications to the above email address.
We hope that decision could be made by mid-January 2022 in time for the consideration of the Board of Trustees during its meeting on 5 February 2022.
