Memo to : Loyola Schools Student Activities Community
Memo from : (Sgd) Ralph Jacinto A Quiblat
Director
Subject : New Year, New Movements in Student Activities
Welcome back to the Loyola Schools! Welcome back to student activities on campus!
After two years of online activities, we are very happy to welcome student organizations and student activities back on campus. Your OSA Fam is looking forward to meeting all of you in person and joining you in your events onsite.
As we begin once again to make student activities come alive on campus, here is a series of information we would like you to know to ensure a safe, smooth, and hassle-free student activities experience.
1. LS OSA Portal
The services of the Loyola Schools Office of Student Activities may be availed through the LS OSA portal. LS OSA made available all of its services online when work and student activities shifted to remote delivery due to the pandemic. The portal will continue its services as student activities move back onsite. These services include: submission of project proposals, appointment sign up for consultation and coaching, submission of project management and finance documents, assistance in resource management and allocation, and tracking submitted documents. This online portal also allows students to connect directly and in real time to student affairs professionals for consultation, guidance, and coaching. Please visit go.ateneo.edu/studentactivities-ls
2. Organization Registration and SOAR Portal
In compliance with the Anti-Hazing Act of 2018 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations, the University has set up guidelines on the registration of student organizations and application for approval to hold initiation rites. All existing as well as new school-based organizations which have existing members who are students or which plan to recruit students to be its members are required to register.
LS OSA has prepared a web portal for all your organization registration and SOAR Compliance needs. All the information you will need regarding organization registration and SOAR Processing are all in this portal. Organizations may already begin with the registration process by following the procedure outlined at go.ateneo.edu/osa-soar. Deadline for registration is 11 September 2022. (Registration for SOAR will open on 19 September 2022, a week after the deadline of org registration.)
3. OSA Student Affairs Professionals/Formator Assignments
LS OSA is happy to inform the community that LS OSA Student Affairs Professional Aeron Lester N. Syliongtay has been chosen as 1 of 5 awardees of the Tetley and Lupton Scholarship for International Students. He will be on a one-year study leave to pursue a master’s degree in Organizational Psychology at the Leeds University Business School in the UK.
In this regard, LS OSA will be hiring a temporary Student Affairs Professional/Formator to fill in Aeron’s role while he is away. While we await the appointment of the new formator, there will be movements in the OSA Formator assignments to distribute Aeron’s workload among the current set of OSA Formators. Please refer to the table below for the Formator Assignments for Quarter 1 of 1st Semester of SY 2022-23. These new assignments will take effect starting 15 August 2022.

4. Guidelines for On Campus Student Activities
LS OSA will be releasing an update to the 30 March 2022 Memo on the GUIDELINES FOR LIMITED IN-PERSON STUDENT ACTIVITIES ON CAMPUS (go.ateneo.edu/osamemo220330).
The new memo will update the processes and protocols in line with the revised guidelines of IATF and in consideration of the resumption of face-to-face classes. The memo will also outline the process and procedures on how to go about accessing your organization rooms in MVP. The MVP Center will be opened for limited student access starting 05 September 2022.
5. Ignacianidad
Every year, the Loyola Schools Office of Student Activities holds Ignacianidad, a leadership summit focusing on deepening the Ignatian values present in student leadership. This is to recognize the need to not only equip our student leaders with technical skills and competencies but also ground them in essential Ignatian values that will serve as a foundation for their leadership. This school year, Ignacianidad (IGN 22) will break ground in re-inventing the conference experience. Instead of the usual 5 day onsite leadership conference, IGN 22 will be a Multi-event Leadership Conference, a Content Summit, and a Campaign program.
‘Truth Told Better’ is LS OSA’s theme for SY 2022-23. In line with this IGN 22 is designed to equip students and student organizations to be better at illuminating their public on what is true, what is good, and what must be done to for the truth and the good to prevail amidst the current trend that favors disinformation.
IGN 22 will be launched on 21 August 2022 and will culminate on the week of 21 September 2022. Please watch out for the Launch of the IGN 22 Portal through the various LS OSA social media platforms.
--------------------------------------------------
We look forward to a wonderful year of student activities back onsite. But while we reclaim our familiar spaces for the activities we have grown accustomed to pre-pandemic, let us not forget the many valuable lessons and practices we have learned in the last two years of doing activities online.
While being enormously disruptive and painful, the pandemic also hastened the emergence of solidarity, creativity, and improvisation among us. We must recognize that in our midst, there is an emerging dynamic approach to doing things -- to work, to social activities, and in mission-related strategies. There is a new wind blowing. Let us allow this breeze to breathe life into the things that truly matter, things that, as we have learned, can be so easily taken away from us, and so therefore we must learn to seize them and enjoy our every moment with them.
Create. Innovate. Be better at telling the truth. Your LS OSA is here to support you as your #PartnersInFormation.
Ad majorem Dei gloriam.
