Video Production

As part of Ateneo de Manila University’s continued engagement within and outside our community, all offices, academic units, and affiliated organizations are strongly encouraged to actively document and publicize all activities and projects in connection with our University’s core work of teaching & learning, formation, research, and outreach.

For this, Ateneo provides the University website, ateneo.edu; its various social channels; and a variety of digital and onsite communications and promotions methods for offices and personnel to utilize.

The University Marketing and Communications Office (UMCO) is available to support offices in this regard, by assisting in covering and publicizing these activities and projects through photo, video, and/or article coverage, as well as assistance in setting up live streaming/recording.

What we can do for you

A. Special Event Coverage Assistance

The University strongly encourages its various units and offices, especially its schools and academic departments, to create and publish content – photos, videos, and articles – on the University website, ateneo.edu, as part of our institutional memory and for quality assurance and official documentation.

If needed, UMCO can provide photo, video, and/or article coverage assistance of officially-recognized events and activities of Ateneo offices, personnel, projects, and students/student organizations. This is ideal for big or special projects/events.

  • Email umco [at] ateneo.edu with the subject line “[Coverage Request] <Event name>, <Date>”
  • Provide UMCO with the following:
    • Details of the event (location, date, time, relevant details such as program, presence of VIP guests, etc)
    • Type of coverage requested
  • UMCO will check the availability of staff who can cover, and will get back to the requestor within 1-2 working days.
  • UMCO might ask for more details, if needed
  • For photo/video coverage, the materials will be provided to the office 1-2 working days after the event
  • For article publication, it will be published on the University website

B. Special Articles/Features/Press Releases

UMCO can provide assistance in creating special articles, features, and press releases for major University initiatives, events, or milestones; notable faculty, staff, or students; and other special projects or events.

Email the Director of University Marketing and Communications (umco [at] ateneo.edu) for further assistance regarding this service. It is ideal to give UMCO a lead time of at least a week, ideally more, for proper planning and content creation.

C. Live Streaming/Taped-As-Live

UMCO and Digital Information and Technology Services (DITS) are the points of contact for live streaming and taped-as-live event coverage requests.

The UMCO-DITS livestream team provides the following levels of livestreaming assistance:

  • Full assistance: Includes setup and running of live streaming equipment and production; use of University YouTube channel
  • Technical assistance: Setup and running of live streaming only
  • Channel management: Use of University YouTube channel or big Zoom room (live stream setup is by host office)

To request for live stream assistance, email umco [at] ateneo.edu and itsupport [at] ateneo.edu with the subject line “[Live Stream Request] <event name>, <date>”. Include the following details at least 5 working days before the event:

  • Details of event (nature of event, date, time, location)
  • Requesting party details
  • Type of assistance needed

UMCO and DITS will then coordinate with the requesting party and other office/s involved (e.g. CFMO) for the live streaming. The requesting party will need to also provide the following:

  • Schedule and event program
  • Event promotional collaterals
  • Media (video and/or audio) to be used (must have no copyright issues)
  • Costs for staff overtime and/or equipment rental, if applicable

D. Video Production

UMCO can assist your office in planning and executing video production projects, such as video messages, institutional videos, and similar media products that are used for University-related activities.

  • Email the proposal to UMCO (umco [at] ateneo.edu) with the subject line "[Video Production] <topic/project>".
  • Please include the following initial details of the video project (purpose/s, requirements for storyboards/scripts, deadlines, etc).
  • UMCO will set up a meeting with the requesting office/project/event to discuss the details of the project and how it will move forward.

UMCO can provide initial planning services, and for simple production needs can also help create the needed materials. For more complex needs, UMCO can connect you with resources within the University, such as Arete, the ELJ Center for Multimedia Communication, and DITS; or with trusted and accredited external suppliers who can provide high-quality, cost-efficient services.
