CALL FOR ABSTRACTS: “Rewilding the City” 2024 AUN-EEC Conference on Ecological Education and Culture
The ASEAN University Network on Ecological Education and Culture (AUN-EEC), housed at the Ateneo Institute of Sustainability, in partnership with the AUN Thematic Network on Sustainable Cities and Urban Development (AUN-SCUD) housed at the Center for Sustainable Infrastructure Development, is organizing its 5th annual AUN-EEC Conference on Ecological Education and Culture.
The conference for the year 2024 has the theme “Rewilding the City”, which alludes to the pivotal role of cities, especially in Southeast Asia, in ecological education as they navigate the tensions of culture and modernity and environment and economy. The conference will feature speakers from ASEAN universities discussing urban sustainability within their respective spheres of influence.
In line with this, the conference is now open for abstract submissions for the following thematic areas:
- Cities as a pedagogical space (i.e., in formal teaching, informal learning, activities of student organizations)
- Ecological issues in the city (ex.: subsidence, haze, traffic, and mobility)
- Smart cities, urban resilience, and sustainability
The conference welcomes submissions from students, faculty, staff, NGOs, LGUs, local champions, and other professionals. Authors of accepted abstracts may submit their full manuscript for publication in the Special Issue of CSID Journal of Infrastructure Development (peer-reviewed, DOAJ-indexed).
We request interested parties to take note of the following pertinent information regarding abstract submission:
